TABITHA VS. The Art Dog World

James Wagner Writes:

Although it took a few minutes of walking about the space and talking to Martin, probably the sweetest gallery dog in New York, I eventually became so taken with this work that I found it very difficult to leave. That doesn't happen very often, no matter how much I like a show.

Oly Writes:

He is pretty sweet.
(isn't he a cross between a German Shepherd and a Welsh Corgi or something??)
But I have to say that Tabitha, the Beagle pupster, at Like the Spice is pretty darn precious herself.

There should be a whole page devoted to gallery animals-- that would be great.

OK Oly, not only will we devote a page to my dear Tabitha but she just barked BRING IT ON
Post any and all gallery dog, cat, hamster, or goldfish photos within the comments of this blog and we'll let the general public vote!

xoxo Tabitha and the Like the Spice crew.

P.S. No dog or cat with baby pics, Todd & Melissa, thats cheating!

P.S.S. This is the perfect time to unveil our next group show at Like the Spice Gallery, opening Saturday December 15th, Deer Art: animal imagery in contemporary art. Animals seem to be everywhere in the art world right now....you can't spit at an art fair without hitting two deers, a bear and probably a sasquatch....there seems to be an urgency to animal and nature imagery right now. This mixed media group show will cement on the relationships between anthropomorphic animals/animals-as-people and animals as symbols of nature in kitch, spiritual, and noble ways.
